Help - staining marine infauna with rose bengal

From:Bruce Abaloz

I am a marine ecology honours student at the University of Melbourne and wanting to know if anybody could give me some feedback or advise. I am going to take a sediment core (1 litre) and sieve all the fauna out of the sample, then I will stain the sample with rose bengal so I can later identify any organisms that I did not sieve out. Has anybody done something similar or can advise me on what concentrations of rose bengal would be suitable?

Thank you,
Allyson O'Brien
