Eosin on processor

From:MTitford@aol.com

Pamela asks about eosin on the tissue processor-

We picked up on that a few months ago and it really helps. 15 mls of working strength eosin in the last alcohol (about 1 gallon on our VIP) stains the little biopsies and helps during the embedding. It also helps when you are facing off larger blocks of bland looking tissue like brain and uterus. When you see a pink ring around the tissue, you know you are cutting the whole block face.
However someone has stated that eosin interferes with FISH studies (Fluorescent in situ hybridization)so not everyone may be able to use it.
