the use of calcium chloride in trypsin

From:Debbie Pepperal

Hi Histonetters

Is there a scientific explanation for the use of calcium chloride in
trypsin when digesting tissue prior to IHC staining. I use trypsin on its
own, but for certain antibodies, the addition of calcium chloride to the
trypsin solution tends to aid in the digestion of tissue. Any comments?

thanks
