ORO on formalin fixed liver

From:Gayle Callis

Cryoprotect fixed liver in 15% sucrose not dextran, just place tissue in
this solution, and let it sink to bottom of container, overnight at 4C.

Blot excess 15% sucrose off tissue, snap freeze per your protocol, section.

The sucrose replaces the water in formalin, gives better freezing, better
sectioning.

There has been a great deal of discussion on cryoprotection on Histonet, go
to Archive for a search.
