IHC question for research folks

From:"Johnson, Theresa"

I sent this to the VIR email list and I don't think it's gone out yet, so
let me query the histonet folks.

When given a choice of host animals for primary antibodies, I find myself
shying away from the mouse monoclonals, looking for other host species,
especially rabbit. I know there are various MOM kits available, and my
question relates to whether I should be bold and try them anyway, or
continue to search for alternate sources of whatever antibody I'm looking
for.

Specifically, at this time, I'm looking a pan-cytokeratins and muscle
specific actins, to use as positive control for my detection system when
developing new antibodies in mouse.

Thanks for any help!
