Sentinel nodes

From:Priscilla Delventhal <pdelvent@wyoming.com>

Someone asked about multiple nodes being sent for immuno's,etc, lumping
them into the same catagory as sentinel nodes. It has been my
understanding that the sentinel node was the first node that an area
drained to. Thus there can only be one node as a sentinel. I have
heard of cases where the sentinel node was negative and some of the
other nodes positive. A small percentage though. Also if there is only
one sentinel node, the rest of the nodes lumped together above would all
be from the same specimen and therefore only eligible for one charge.
