I can confirm the answer from Jan about the Dako anti-human sma, Clone 1A4.
We use it in monkey , mouse and rat paraffin sections. When the tissue is
optimally fixed (24h - 48 h) it  works nicely without any antigen
retrieval. If not - very often in our research environment - I improved the
staining with either heating in microwave (citrate buffer pH 6.0, 20 min)
or digestion with trypsin 0.2% for 15 min.
The dilution and incubation time of the antibody differs for the several
