Evening/Night Shift Histology Coordinator

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Medical Center, South Carolina's premiere tertiary care hospital and School of Medicine located in beautiful, historic Charleston, SC, has an immediate opening for an experienced technical coordinator for its evening and night shift operations in the Surgical Pathology Laboratory.   Situated in downtown Charleston,  the medical center's geographical location offers all of the amenities of the southeast's vacation playgrounds and ready access to the city's finest dining and cultural events.

The successful candidate for this position will be a self-starter capable of supervising an experienced staff in a busy surgical pathology service that provides around the clock technical support. This individual will possess technical expertise in the preparation of high quality microscopic sections , as well as a proven track record in the supervision of day to day operations.  Candidate must be customer service oriented and equipped to meet the needs of this busy diagnostic service while ensuring that the highest standards of excellence are maintained for the delivery of patient care at the medical center.

A B.S. degree in Biology,  Medical Technology, or life science with a minimum of five years experience in a clinical histology laboratory  is required along with registry certification (HTL or HT(ASCP). Experience with special stains and immunohistochemistry highly desireable. The work hours for this position are flexible but will include some combination of evening and night shift hours between the period of 4 pm and 7:30 am, affording an opportunity for those interested in continuing their education to attend daytime classes. A competitive shift differential, as well as comprehensive benefits package, is available for this position.

Salary for this challenging position is commensurate with experience and prior accomplishments.
