Thanks to all the histotechnologists who responded to my e-mail about
finding the perfect xylene substitute. You all provided me with very
valuable and helpful information. 
>From your responses I came to the conclusion that xylene has not been
entirely replaced as the reagent of choice for all histological
procedures. However one can minimize the usage of xylene in the
laboratory by using other chemicals solutions that are quite capable of
providing the same results, specially  in areas such as,
dipparaffinization, dihydration, and coverslipping.
