Sad but true,
                  I've only made up H+E from scratch once and hope to never have to do it again. We don't have time for it, kits and ready made solutions are a must for our research lab. If I need help I look something up or rely on the best resource I know, the HISTONET.

how eloquent....and i agree completely!!  i'll bet there are more histotechs
out there now who DON'T know how to make hematoxylin from scratch than do
(sorry about the poor grammar).  it's very sad indeed.  i'm very glad i had
the opportunity to be schooled and trained in labs that still did things
"the old fashioned way".
