For Andea:
Both the AFIP Manual and Sheehan & Hrapchak use the following recipe for stock
Giemsa solution
1gram Giemsa powder
66 ml glycerol
66 ml absolute methanol
Use a brown bottle.
Add the giemsa powder to the glycerol and place in 60 degree oven for 2 hours.
Cool and add the methanol
For the working solution
S&H use 2.5 ml stock to 50 ml distilled water
AFIP offers
Wolbach's Method: 1.25 stock, 1.5 methanol and 50 ml distilled water
Price's Method: 3.0 ml stock, 97.0 ml phosphate buffer, pH 7.0
