The Biological Stain Commission will meet on the Queen Mary in Long Beach
June 3-5, 1999. Full schedule of the meeting can be found at:
http://www.urmc.rochester.edu/SMD/Path/BSC/nextmeet.html

As part of the educational mission of the Commission,
this year two workshops will be presented on Saturday, June 5. These
workshops will be given in the NSH format, and the morning workshop is
titled "How dyes stain tissues: A new perspective". The presentor is Dr.
Dick Dapson, no stranger to the histology audience.

The afternoon workshop will be given by John Tarpley of Amgen, and Al
Floyd, and is titled "Specimen optimization for Image Analysis". John
and Al are also frequent presentors at State and National meetings.

There is no charge for either of these workshops. Refreshments will be
served during breaks. The morning workshop is already an approved
continuing education workshop by NSH, and the afternoon workshop is being
submitted for approval.

To facilitate room and refreshment arrangements, as well as handouts, it
would be appreciated
if those planing to attend would contact either Dr. David Penney:
david_penney@urmc.rochester.edu
or Al Floyd: al.floyd@juno.com.

General Scientific sessions are held on Friday, June 4. These sessions
are also open to all and this years topic is Molecular morphology:
Potential for Pathology. These sessions have been organized by Dr. Clive
Taylor of USC. We look forward to seeing you in Long Beach.
