We are having trouble keeping toenails on the slides for PAS stains. We have tried the following things: charged/plus slides, no adhesive in waterbaths, commercial adhesives in baths, drying @ 60-70 degrees from 15 minutes to overnight, drying in front of a fan and then a slide dryer, slide dryer at 2-4 degrees below the melting point of paraffin, air drying over night, cutting the sections at 3 microns rather than 4, and towel blotting slides before drying slides. Some cases are fine, but than we will come across a case that we just can't win with. Are their any special techniques that have been working for other people?
