Duties and Responsibilities:

Searching for a qualified, motivated individual to perform calcified bone histology to support our research and development of novel bone therapeutic agents.  We have a state of the art histology laboratory, which interacts with a variety of research groups.  Focus will include specimen identification, tracking, handling, processing, embedding, sectioning and staining a wide variety of calcified bone specimens with and without implants.  Use, maintenance and troubleshooting standard lab equipment and procedures required.  In addition to histology duties, the candidate will have the opportunity to perform image and data analysis, which may include image acquisition as well as qualitative and quantitative histomorphometry.  The individual chosen will have the opportunity to participate in experimental design and research discussions with our Bone Biology and Application team.  

Requirements:  

AS or BS degree, with a minimum of 3 years demonstrated proficiency which will include theoretical and practical histology expertise.  Good computer skills required for electronic communication, word and spreadsheet documentation.  Demonstrated attention to detail, team work and lab safety crucial to our busy lab.  Knowledge and use of automated histology equipment (microtome, processor, etc.) beneficial to your consideration.  Knowledge of image aquisition and microphotography a plus.  HT(ASCP) or HTL, bone histology and histomorphometry experience highly desired.
