With a good dye batch, Kernechtrot is a very versatile stain and should be certified. I prefer it as a counterstain for Schmorl's and Perl's stains. It is excellent for counterstaining enzymehistochemical stains as well as argyrophil and argentaffin reactions. It is easy to prepare and to use. It imparts a delicate nuclear staining that adds to the information obtained using the special stain. I highly recommend it. Tony Henwood www2.one.net.au/~henwood
