We start our processor at 7:30 pm and its finished at 6:30 am. We have
specimens that come late and sometimes get put in at the last minute.
We have to strongly discourage the pathologists to not submit certain
specimens late in the day. Like breast, bone that hasn't been decaled
properly, colon. They are getting better, but it is a day by day
thing. I recently had to reprocess some breast tissue that was
completely unfixed, because of cutting to thick and submitting too
late. Very frustrating.
