Here are 5 commercially available staining kits that I have tried - all are
modified Steiner-Steiner techniques for (Spirochete, Legionella, Cat
Scratch, Helicobacter and Donovan Bodies). The staining results from all the
kits are quite comparable microscopically to one another, the biggest
difference is in price. We perform so many, that it is more cost effective
for us to prepare our own Steiner solutions and stain using the microwave
technique. We also prefer to substitute Zinc formalin for the Uranyl
nitrate that is sold as a sensitizer in these kits.

You may want to call for current pricing.
