[Histonet] RE: -20C acetone fixative

From:"Charles, Roger"

Thanks to all that responded to this question. It's interesting to see
a variety of reasons why acetone is used at this temp. I was once told
by a researcher that "it's possibly due to how acetone was stored many
moons ago and the practice just carried thru since."

Subject: -20C acetone fixative

Does any know or remember why acetone, when used as a fixative, is
always used "ice cold" or in our case at -20C?
