We also used the services of an outside contractor BUT only after 6 years with an intensive and extensive "in house" monitoring system with badges developed "in house" and others sent outside for develoiping.
  If you don't know your conditions, just to be in the "safe side", I would try to do a monitoring with badges developed by a company (like KEM).
