It is dependent on the formula of the Harris Modified Hematoxylin used. Some
commercial formulas will form less precipitate and film than others. If it is
made in the laboratory generally I filter each day. Commercial formulas are
checked each day for a film on the top or if I hear solid material when I shake
or stir the solution.
