RE: snow coat slides

From:Carol Bobrowitz

I suggest not using charged slides for silver stains. I was using them and
changed to a plain glass slide using Sta-on in the waterbath with excellent
results. The sliver adheres to the charged glass.

Before everyone switches to Allegiance slides, I just wanted to know if
anyone else is having problems with these slides and silver stains & High
Molecular Wt. Cytokeratin IHC. The company appears to be putting too much
adhesive on their charged slides which is, in turn, lighting up with these
stains. We have pulled several lots so far and I'm hoping they will correct
this problem.

Thanx,

We had many problems with these slides breaking in the microwave. We had to
switch slide brands.

Had anyone has any problem with the "snow coat" slide by Surgipath? The
problem is the frosted end fell of when it's in the oven or microwave.
