RE: Portable Cryostats

From:Ivan Reed

Hi Joe

I have used several types the best of the bunch is the Bright Instruments 2212 Starlet mini Cryostat. Very good, reliable, good repeatability and solid. Will fit into the back of a car easy. If you want more info contact Alan Bright at ABright@brightinstruments.com

Or if you have any questions contact me any time at javelin@ukf.net

Subject: Portable Cryostats

Greetings Histoland,

Has anyone ever used a portable cryostat before?  One vendor has one that can be plugged into an outlet or can be hooked up to a car battery.

What are the pitfalls? How long does it take to cool down?

    Thank you
