RE: Cryostats and Research

Dear Mark,

A clinical cryostat in general requires very basic functions, but it is very useful to know what types of tissues are to be sectioned, to enable features to be added to allow all sectioning to be achieved with ease.

A research cryostat would have a specification related to the studies it is being used for, or these plus what would be required for future studies. The options are numerous. We can also add features to our excising cryostats if the user's studies change.

For special new studies we are able to design and build cryostats to meet the user's requirements.

Best regards

Hello cryotomists and researchers,

I have 2 questions .  What needs do people using cryostats in a research
setting have that those using them in a clinical setting don't  and vise
versa ? What do you look for in a cryostat ?

I'd appreciate your feedback.

Thanks !

Mark
