Chloroacetate esterase

From:Joey Shepherd

Morning all
I've been using Sigma's Naphthol AS-D chloroacetate esterase kit to
stain arthritic mouse joints and surprisingly no neutrophils are
staining up (although you can see they're there on H&E) but the mast
cells are staining beautifully! I was wondering if the
decalcification process (EDTA) affects the esterase activity of
neutrophils but not mast cells? oes anyone have any ideas? It's not
too much of a disaster, more a curiosity.
Cheers!
Joey
