RE: charging

From:"Willis, Donna"

I would like to hear more from others on this charging question. When we
receive a frozen (88331) we cut a toluidine blue to allow the pathologist to
get a jump start on reviewing the case. Sometimes this is all that is
needed. When they do need an H&E performed we give ourselves credit for
performing both for workload purposes but only charge the patient for one.

Hi Everyone,
As is the case recently with a lot of us I have billing questions. Do you
think we could charge for a toluidine blue stain on a frozen section, this
is in addition to the H/E.
The same question for a touch prep. We routinely stain a Giemsa and H/E on a
smear. Is the TP code specific to a giemsa stain?
Thanks for your help.
