Histology Technical Specialist Position

West Virginia University in Morgantown has a Histology
Technical Specialist Position available. The Histology Technical Specialist is a
technical expert in one area and performs all technical skills in their
laboratory division. Technical specialists are responsible for day to day
technical supervision of the division and participating in the management of the
laboratory as a whole.
Performs and analyzes a wide range of laboratory
testing and related duties in support of the hospital's mission of patient care.
Assists in the writing, updating and performing of Quality Assurance, Control
measures and procedures for Histopathology. Assists in regulating and
distributing workload for the staff of the Histology laboratory. The
Histotechnologist/Tech Specialist is a resource person for other personnel
within the laboratory and functions as the Technologist in charge in Anatomic
Pathology.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Baccalaureate in
Sciences with certification as a
Histotechnologist (HTL) or BS level Histologic technician (HT) by the American
Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) or equivalent certifying
agency. Four years of technical experience and 2 years
supervisory experience. We offer a competitive salary
