Regarding the availability of Gurr R66 and Gurrs buffer, Ian says:

Just looked in the Merck Eurolab catalogueand they do still sell Gurr R66
Giemsa stain. Also sell buffer tablets for pH 6.4 and 7.2.
But I dont know Merck Eurolab handle marketing in the USA, they have a
website, start there?
Note Merck Eurolab are NOT the same firm as Merck US, which latter is the
descentant of the bit of Merck which was confiscated when the US entered WWI !
