Brittle blocks: more info.
From: | Phil Bergin <philip.bergin@microbio.gu.se> |
Hi,
Thanks for the advice so far, I've been asked for some more information
so here it is:
Our cryostat is at -20 C and I tend to leave my blocks for at least 30
min before I start to cut them.
The samples are gastric biopsies from the stomach antrum and duodenum.
The blocks are frozen in cryomoulds 10mm x 10 mm x 5mm in size.
I cut sections at 8um in thickness.
After I freeze the blocks I store them in liquid nitrogen for transport
to the lab, where I keep them in a -80 freezer till I use them.
Thanks again for the advice,
Phil
