We use egg substitute that you buy at the grocery. This product is 97-98%
egg white. We use 75ml of the egg in 200ml of distilled water. Leave slides
in for 15 minutes. Wash in 2 changes of distilled water. Put slides in skim
milk for 15 minutes. Wash in 2 changes of distilled water. Any buffers will
precipitate out the eggs, so be sure and use water. Dr. Rodney Miller
introduced this method of biotin blocking at a workshop I attended. The eggs
contain avidin, and the milk is a source of biotin. Hope this helps.
