A creative Opportunity in Nashville

From:"Jonathan R. Oppenheimer" <joppenheimer@ourlab.net>

I have a position for an experienced and creative histotechnologist yearning
for adventure. I currently have one excellent H&E technologist and another
in training, and I am now seaching for help with special stains and working
up immunoperoxidase tumor markers.

Disappointed with a staff position at a larger commercial lab, I started
OUR Lab in 1996 so that I wouldn't have dance to the tune of some
suit-and-tied business dude intent on ripping off my professional knowledge
for his financial gain. Trained in urologic pathology at Johns Hopkins, I
specialize in prostate biopsies and urine cytology and receive specimens
from all parts of the country. Occaisionally, specimens come in from Europe,
Australia, and South America.

The position in question is for someone able to cut and stain, teach others
to do special stains, and perform QC, as well as work up antibodies for
prostate cancer prognostic studies. Interest or experience in image analysis
is preferred, but not required.

Benefits include:
Generous salary with vacation, health, and profit sharing/ 401(k).
Annual NSH membership and conference.
Life without snow in growing Nashville, Tennessee.
Casual work environment in spacious offices with T-1 internet connection.
No week-ends or frozen sections.
A focus on professionalism and quality service rather than volume and
productivity.

Boss' philosophy: "Life is too short to do it for the money; you gotta do it
for the fun. Just so happens the more fun I have, the more money I seem to
make. I still can't believe that insurance companies and patients pay me to
do this; If my wife would let me, I'd almost do it for free."
