I recently sectioned ceramic disks that were embedded subcutaneously. I
stained the sections with H&E. The ceramic does not pick up the stain only
the surrrounding tissue. There is no stain for ceramic but it can be
observered microscopically with the tissues. Even hydroxyapatite will not
stain. Hope ths answered your question.
