Dear Renee,

We too used to use lead pencil to label our slides until Quality Control
said the FDA, EPA and other regulatory agencies frowned upon them. We then
used Secureline Superfrost markers--which are useless because they last
about one day. Then, we were turned onto the Sharpie Industrial Super
Permanent marker. They are wonderful. They are available through Statlab
Medical Products (1-800-442-3573 extension 14). They last several days, and
several hundred slides and cost less then any other permanent marking pen we
ever used (about $1.25 each).
