We use the Histo-gel without R.A.'s heating and cooling blocks. We keep the
gel refrigerated and when we want to use it, we loosen the lid, and pop it
into the microwave for about 10-15 seconds, which liquifies it fine. When
we have added our specimen, we cool the gel in a small conatiner of crushed
ice until it returns to solid form. This has been working good for our lab.
