The NSH offers some great study booklets which are very structured and are 
in the form of test questions.  Good reference books are THEORY AND PRACTICE 
OF HISTOTECHNOLOGY by Sheehan & Hrapchek and also HISTOTECHNOLOGY by Freida 
Carson.
