Re you question about industrial methylated spirit (IMS). It sounds
remarkably like your S3DA denatured alcohol. If I remember correctly from my
chemistry classes ( long long time ago) IMS is ethanol denatured with 5%
methanol. It is very widely used in Histo labs in the UK as it is a great
deal cheaper than ethanol.
As an exiled Scot (in England) what drink could be better than a good
Scottish whisky?
