Dear Sara:
The different hospital's I have worked for have required either a lab jacket
or an apron,
during embedding, staining, and microtome, mostly to protect your personal
clothing from pariffin , or stains that can spill on your clothing. I have
never been informed that this was a requirement from CAP. We were never able
to wear jeans in the hospital mostly because of hospital policy. One of the
hospital's I just left is now requiring all Lab employee's to wear a uniform.
I do feel she should have never given you a deficiency if your hospital
allows your employee's t wear nice jeans so be it. The hospitals I have
worked at said no due to hospital image.
I hope this helps.
