When i was learning to do wax microtomy, i was always encouraged to put the
blocks on ice for about 10-15 minutes before i cut them......
never had any trouble....except when i forgot them and the ice melted and my
wax blocks ended up shrinking a bit........dried them out again, and
everything seemed hunky dory again, but i am sure not to be encouraged!!!!
