Industrial Methylated Spirit ( IMS ) :
I've been in touch with our suppliers and they are sending me a data
sheet ( to my amazement we didn't already have one ) However, as far as I'm
aware this is 99% alcohol - ethanol with 5% methanol, so in that respect
it's very much like the S3DA denatured alcohol in the USA . Because of
this, it isn't subject to the same Customs and Excise regulations as
absolute ethanol. It's therefore cheaper and works just as well in the
processing and staining machines.
