Jim - There should be no difference between fixation of dolphin gastric
mucosa for spirochetes and other mammalians. We fix our dolphin tissue,
whether from the coast or here, in 10% NBF and have had excellent results.
My only question to you is why you are using a Warthin-Starry instead of a
modified Steiner. In the gastric mucosa there are so many natural bacterial
which will stain heavily with the W-S, that the Steiner is a more sensitive
stain. Just a thought.
