at my hospital, we have decided ,after working with risk management and
surgery, to not give out any tissue or stones per osha rulings for
biohazardous waste.  the patient  when signing the hospital consent agrees
for proper disposal through the hospital.  we do give out breast implants
after the patient has signed a release.  orthopedic appliances must be
tracked in compliance with the FDA requirements.  we only release those
after risk management has approved.
