Yes, both the DAPI and Propidium iodide work really well. They preserve
the immunofluorescence over an extended period (have re-examined
sections one month after initial mounting - sections stored in dark at
4C).
One cautionary note, from my experience, is that it is important to
photograph your results within a day or so, as the DAPI and Propidium
iodide tend to bleed slightly, making nuclei appear "fuzzy".
