Ann,

I'm not sure what you mean by "hazard codes." If you mean the NFPA
ratings, then you can tell you lab management that it is not within your
expertise to give them NFPA ratings. Many MSDS's do not assign NFPA
ratings and it is not easy at all to assign them (having been through
that). One source is the book from Anatech on histolgoy lab safety,
which has the hazard codes worked out for many common histology lab
chemicals.

Can someone please help me!!! Our safety officer has asked me to
document the
hazard codes for all of the reagents in the histology/cytology dept..
This
consists of two humonguously thick binders full of MSDS' which are
extremely
outdated!! When I tried to accomplish this task, I found that I could
not
find the hazard classifications on these old versions of MSDS'. Any
ideas, he
is awaiting a response on "when" I will have this done!!!!
Thanks for any help.......
Ann
