I have always put Tween 20 in my buffers. I have never had to add BSA to
the wash buffer. After I made sure both Primary and secondary antibodies
were optimally diluted, if I still had background staining, I did a
blocking with 3%BSA + Tween 20 after the link antibody. This seemed to
work well.
