Dear Arlene,
Protocol here is as follows:
Fixation in alcohol-formalin, 1 minute
DI water rinse
Harris Hematoxylin, 30 sec,
Tap water rinse until clear
Bluing reagent, 10 dips
Tap water rinse, 10 dips
80% ETOH
Eosin, 6-10 dips, depending on how you like it.
95% ETOH
100% ETOH x2
Clear in xylene
Coverslip
