Karen Larisen asked about embedding charcoal in resin. Over the last
few years I was sure I'd seen a couple of articles in Microscopy and
Analysis on carbon or coal or ... Well I've found one:
Microscopic observations of recent and fossil charcoal.
Scott AC & Jones TP. 1991. Microscopy & Analysis. July issue
13-15.
They used TEM, and embedded in an epoxy - it was AY103. They gave
detailed instructions.
I'll keep looking for the other article, I know its around somewhere!
