Hal- You might consider a cassette bearing a large letter for each 
institution. A sequentially bar coded set would permit accurate sample 
logging and tracking. These markings could be put on the side to permit 
traditional sharpie markings on the face. Alternatively the face could 
be marked with large letters leaving room for the sharpie.
