Yes, but with some staining methods you can expect some 
glycolipids to be stained as well as the mucus. For example, 
myelin is quite strongly PAS-positive in frozen sections
but only weakly so after dehydration and paraffin embedding.
You could avoid this by fixing the cryosections in alcohol
instead of formalin.
