Re: nerve stains on fat tissue

From:Geoff McAuliffe

A colleague of mine used the method of Herdman and Taylor (Stain Technol. 50:37, 1975) to stain nerves re-growing into a wound in mouse skin. It is a silver method.

Hello fellow histologists, I am going to do nerve stains on fat tissue. I have only done these (silver methods) on brain tissue (many years ago, of course.) Does anyone have any suggestions for fat tissue? I have done some IHC stains with success but they did not show any nerve fibers infiltrating into the tissue --what we  suspect they might be doing. Or do you have a better suggestion for staining? Thanks. BTW, I have enjoyed the nerve stain discussions in the past.
