My histotech is out for a week or 2 and my substitute is producing 
colon biopsies in which the mucin stains deep blue with H&E.

I have seen this many times over the years, but have never figured 
out its cause. The substitute is not a good trouble shooter.

Does anyone know what causes this abnormal staining in goblet cells?
