Tammy,
Never done cow, have done cat smears. Fix in 95% Ethanol (if not too late,
otherwise Para should be OK) and fix for about 20 minutes. Then run down to
water, stain H&E, not long in Hematoxylin, 1 minute should do it. Best of
luck! Gotta love research ;)
